Bursary funding

If you'd love to come on a trip with Excelsior, but aren't sure you have the money, we have a few solutions available.

The Tall Ships Races: The Oman Bursary Scheme accepts applications for young people aged 15-25 to take part in the Tall Ships Races. You can find out more about how to apply here.

James Myatt Trust: if you are aged 16-25, you can apply to this trust for financial support to allow you to take part in a sail training voyage from an ASTO member. Find out more here.

The Norfolk Boat: Young people aged 12 to 24 years old and adults with disabilities who live in Norfolk and the surrounding area can apply for funding to come on a voyage with Excelsior. Find out more here.

Red House Youth Trust: young people in or with a strong connection to Norfolk may be able to apply for support towards their trip with Excelsior. Find out more here.

Pawprint Trust: supports young people aged 11-25 with lifechanging adventures (international included). Find out more here.

We also do our own fundraising to secure bursaries and sponsored places for our trips. Please get in touch to find out if we have anything available. All applications are assessed on merit and usually go to those who wouldn't otherwise be able to join us, or face barriers getting into sailing.
